Finalist Updates #4: Supportspace - supportspace® Officially Joins the Care City NHS Test Bed
Last time I told you about all the exciting things happening to supportspace® and our team as we execute our go-to-market plan. I’m therefore delighted to be able to report that we have started 2016 much as we left off the old year.
First came the official announcement from NHS England that Barking & Dagenham’s new Care City Healthy Ageing Innovation Centre has been named one of only five NHS Test Beds nationwide. This is a great result for us as supportspace® is one of a select few innovations chosen for this programme. Care City was founded by North East London NHS Foundation Trust and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, and brings together local health and social care partners with researchers, education providers, technology experts, SMEs and social entrepreneurs to develop healthcare and workforce models for the future.
On top of our inclusion in this fantastic new programme, we also gained great exposure from being a finalist at the Telecare Services Association (TSA) ‘Driving Digital Challenge 2015’ awards.
As a direct result of these developments, we have been approached by a number of very high profile suppliers and providers of Technology Enabled Care Services who are interested in actively collaborating with supportspace®. We have also entered into discussion with two potential investors, with a third waiting in the wings.
Meanwhile, back down on planet Earth, our field trials with Henshaws Society and Warrington Disability Partnership are both progressing well. We have now completed two rounds of engagements with service users, support workers and admin staff as part of our implementation and go-live plans. These sessions and the tremendously valuable feedback we have gathered have allowed us to create a 12-month development roadmap that we have very high confidence in, and isolate eight items that will be completed in time for both trials to commence with real users. We are also finalising configuration details, such as defining the lists of services that users from each organisation will be able to use in order to search for and arrange support.
I wrote last time that we were working hard to complete a demo version of supportspace® in Polish and were close to appointing our first overseas reseller. Well, I’m happy to sign off this blog by saying that we completed the demo version on time and signed an agreement with RevoCom Ltd, who are now our official channel partner in Poland and Turkey. We are also continuing discussions with potential partners in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and have had talks with Clalit, which is the largest healthcare provider in Israel.
